Terms of Service

Last updated May 2026

These terms govern your use of Paint By JSON (the “Service”). The Service is operated by Robert McLoughlin, sole trader, based in Ireland (“we”, “us”). By installing the plugin, creating an account, or purchasing a paid plan you agree to these terms.

The Service

Paint By JSON is a Figma plugin that lets you populate Figma frames with data from REST APIs you choose to call. The plugin runs inside Figma; API requests are made directly from your browser to the endpoints you configure. Detailed product behaviour is described in our documentation.

Accounts

Some features require an account. You’re responsible for your credentials and for what happens under your account. Authentication is handled by Supabase. Keep your email address up to date so we can reach you about billing and material changes to the Service.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are sold as monthly or annual subscriptions and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. The price and billing cycle in effect at the time of renewal will be the price you paid most recently, unless we have given you advance notice of a change.

You can cancel at any time from the customer portal linked in your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep access to paid features until then, and you won’t be charged again.

Paddle as Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

This means Paddle — not us — is the seller of record on your invoice, calculates and remits any applicable sales tax or VAT, and processes refunds and chargebacks. Your purchase is also governed by Paddle’s Checkout Buyer Terms, which you accept at checkout.

Refunds

We offer a 30-day refund on the most recent billing period if Paint By JSON doesn’t work for you. Email hi@paintbyjson.com and we’ll arrange the refund with Paddle. If you’re an EU or UK consumer, you also have statutory rights under Paddle’s checkout terms — our 30-day policy is in addition to those rights, not a replacement for them.

Acceptable use

  • Don’t use the plugin to call APIs you aren’t authorised to access.
  • Don’t attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the Service.
  • Don’t use the Service to process content that violates applicable law.
  • Don’t use the Service in a way that breaches Paddle’s Acceptable Use Policy.

Disclaimer and liability

The Service is provided “as is.” We don’t warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, we aren’t liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited under applicable consumer law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and disputes that aren’t resolved through Paddle’s buyer-support process are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts. If you’re a consumer, this doesn’t affect mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in the country you live in.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in-plugin or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the new terms.
